Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) has long been touted as the anchor application of triple play.
Delivered successfully, bundled voice, data and video offer much-needed increased ARPU (average revenue per user).
iSuppli has predicted that IPTV alone will generate global revenues of US $38 billion by 2009 and could
increase ARPU to US $132/month in developed countries. In addition to the improved revenue, it is
believed that IPTV, and associated bundled services, will help service providers to attract new
subscribers and reduce churn.
